Categories:
PROFESSIONAL BAKERS
- Best Taste
- Best Design
- Best Montreal theme
This category is for professional bakers, chefs, caterers, bakeries and those who sell their cupcakes commercially. We ask professional bakers who would like to participate to donate as many cupcakes as possible but all donations are appreciated. A donation of 200 cupcakes or more earns you recognition as a sponsor of Cupcake Camp. We invite all professional bakers to leave cards and information to spread the word about their business.
Amateur Bakers (16 years old or older)
- Best Taste
- Best Design
- Best Montreal theme
This category is for amateur cupcake geniuses and home bakers. If you’re the queen of the kitchen and like to share the bounty of your talents, this category is for you. We ask all amateur bakers to make a minimum of 24 to 48 cupcakes but we welcome ambitious bakers who would like to contribute even more – if you donate 200 cupcakes you become recognized as a sponsor.
Kids (less than 16 years old)
- Best Tasting Kids Cupcake
- Best Kids Design
Kids love to bake and they can come up with the wildest ideas. If your kid is a budding culinary genius or just likes to make a delicious mess in the kitchen, we’d love to have them share the joy of baking with all of us at Cupcake Camp. This is a great way involve your kid in the kitchen and helping out other kids who aren’t as lucky. Sharing food is sharing love and it doesn’t get sweeter than baking cupcakes, with or without a bit of help from your mom or dad. And it’s fun!
#FAILCAKE
The category name says it all….cupcake=fail! Yes, this very special category was created for slackers and evil creative geniuses with horrible, horrible taste. Or just people with good intentions that went horribly awry. Yes, your cupcakes are a joke and you’re in on it! Let your imagination run wild and you too could be the biggest failure if you try really, really hard to come up with the worst and most failed cupcake evar! Participation in this category is entirely by choice and we expect participants to serve up a colossal failure of epic, well cupcake, proportions. Nothing is too extreme…liver cupcakes with green icing? Or are your cupcakes lopsided, hard like a rock and can be used as a weapon? Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Fail! You win!
The judge for this very special category is infamous anarchist chef Bob le Chef who promises to taste all entries! The challenge is on – do your evil best or very, very worst. Creative failure and your evil designs could win you the infamy you’ve always craved.
Best Cupcake in Montreal
The best tasting cupcake at each level (Pro, Amateur, Kid) will be entered into the Best Cupcake in Montreal category. Of these three cupcakes the overall best tasting cupcake will then be deemed The Best Cupcake in Montreal.
